Thank you for visiting my website. I am a board diplomat of NCCAOM and licensed Acupuncturist and Holistic physician. Before undertaking the study of Acupuncture and Holistic medicine, I completed my undergraduate work in Engineering at University of Washington in 1985 and subsequently completed my graduate work in Engineering at University of California in Santa Barbara in 1987. From the early 1990’s because of my interest in Alternative medicine I studied homeopathy and botanical medicine and completed the full program in 1994. Since then I been researching the alternative medicine and botanical medicine treatment of hard to treat conditions and provided my families and friends with the most recent research and data in alternative medicine treatments.
Over 25 years ago, I tried Chinese medicine because of one of my colleagues suggestions. The results changed my life. . I chose to study Acupuncture and Chinese medicine, which has been successfully used for over 2,000 years to promote health and longevity in addition to treating disease. Western medicine uses powerful chemicals or invasive surgery to achieve its goals, acupuncture works by stimulating the body’s highly sophisticated self-healing mechanisms.
I have complemented my study of acupuncture and herbs with a thorough education in functional medicine. Functional medicine is a personalized approach to health care that recognizes the biological uniqueness of each patient. In contrast to conventional care, which is almost entirely focused on suppressing symptoms, functional medicine eliminates symptoms by addressing the underlying cause of a problem. It is an evidence-based field of health care that views the body as an interconnected whole, and recognizes the importance of these connections in health and disease. In functional medicine, the patient is empowered, educated and encouraged to play an active role in the healing process.
Along with my general internal medicine acupuncture practice, I have a special interest in skin and cosmetic acupuncture, treatment of musculoskeletal pain, allergy, and digestive systems.
I am continually amazed by the practical effectiveness of this ancient art and science of healing and its power to help people find relief from their ailments on the physical levels and beyond. I strive to keep up with the latest in medical news, and literature and provide patients with up-to-date care as well as reviewing and reading latest informations in functional and holistic medicine, as they are the foundation and philosophy of medicine I find so important. My philosophy of treatment begins in identifying the obstacles to healing and working with patients to identify the root cause of illness and then provide patients with customized treatment plans based on individual needs and goals.
One of my strong beliefs in being a good practitioner is to educate and provide everyone with the tools, information that they need to achieve better health. I hope to empower my patients to achieve wellness
I believe that acupuncture and Holistic functional medicine, integrated appropriately with functional medicine is the key for maintaining optimum health and preventing illness for my clients.
