Acupuncture Insurance Coverage
Many major health insurers provide full coverage for acupuncture in Washington State now There is a 1-800 phone number on back of your insurance card. Please call your insurance company to find out if your plan includes acupuncture benefits.
We are a preferred provider for the following insurance companies:
Premera Blue Cross
Premera Basic Health
Premera Health Plus
We are in the process to become preferred provider for other insurance companies. if your insurance is not listed above we require payment up front and will provide you with a receipt with all necessary insurance codes for you to submit to your insurance company and they will reimburse you directly. Please note that Medicare does not cover acupuncture. If your insurance plan is secondary to Medicare, it usually does not cover acupuncture, but you could call your insurance company to verify what is your individual plan for acupuncture benefits.
Auto Insurance: Auto insurance covers acupuncture treatments (for auto accident injuries), no referral is needed.
You may also explore the use of a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Saving Account (HSA) or other plans by your employer, which allows you to use pre-tax dollars toward eligible medical expenses not covered by your insurance plan. If you are not sure, contact your Human Resources director for more information.
